Home Ownership

How to create, rent, sell, buy, and manage homes on the server

Players can create homes in their settlements which can then be sold or rented to other players for emeralds. Renting homes to other players allows home owners to earn passive income on their homes. Homes are managed by one player at a time, meaning that there is only one player who is allowed to build and access protected storage within each home. As such, homes provide players access to the most safe and protected land on the server.

Creating Homes

Settlement owners can create homes in their settlements using the /home create command while standing in a plot claimed by their settlement. Settlement owners can then claim additional plots for the home using the /home claim command while standing in a plot adjacent to the home. Each home in your settlement must be separated from other homes and shops by at least one plot.

Renting Homes

Home owners can use the /home rent <amount> command to make their home available for rent to other players. Homes for rent are discoverable when using the /explore homes forrent command. Home renters have exclusive access to protected storage while renting a home.

For example, you can use /home rent 25 while standing in a home that you own to start renting the home for 25 emeralds per day. You can stop renting your home at any time, as long as the home is not actively being rented by another player. The server will automatically collect rent from home renters every 24 hours. Home renters will automatically be evicted from the home if they fail to pay rent.

Players are not allowed to build in rented homes. Home owners cannot build or access protected storage in homes which are being rented by another player.

Selling Homes

Home owners can sell their homes to other players for emeralds. Selling a home allows players to permanently transfer ownership of their home to another player for a one-time fee.

Use /home sell <amount> to start selling one of your homes. Homes for sale are discoverable when using the /explore homes forsale command. Once a home has been sold, ownership of the home is transferred to the new home owner meaning that the previous home owner will no longer be able to build or access protected storage in the home.

Homes are valuable, and home ownership is permanent! Make sure to sell your home for a price that justifies permanent ownership of the home.

Buying Homes

Buying homes allows players to purchase protected land in settlements for emeralds with the option of then renting or reselling the home to other players for emeralds. Players can flip homes for a profit by buying a home, fixing it up, and then reselling it for more emeralds than they bought it for.

Players can find homes to buy using the /explore homes forsale command. Use this command multiple times to explore all homes for sale on the server. Players can use the /home buy command to purchase a home. If there are no homes for sale then creating a new settlement is always an option.

Homes in popular settlements with cool builds are generally worth more emeralds.

Changing Home Names

All homes of the server have a unique name which, by default, indicates when the home was created. Homes can be renamed by the current home owner using the /home rename <name> command. Home residents can teleport to their homes using the /home spawn <name> command.

Setting Primary Homes

All home owners have a primary home which is the home they teleport to when using the /home spawn command. Players can update their primary home using the /home setprimary command.
