4. Sell crops to farmers using using the `/explore markets with farmer` command
5. Sell other items to shops using using the `/explore shops buying <item>` command
6. Use emeralds to buy items, homes, and shops or claim land in The Frontier by creating settlements

{% hint style="info" %}
Use the `/explore` command to teleport to different locations on the server.
{% endhint %}

# Exploring The Wilderness

How to explore The Wilderness and collect resources as a new player on the server

The Wilderness is a dangerous, uncharted, unprotected, and lawless realm ruled by anarchists and agents of chaos. It is basically like vanilla Minecraft, but multiplayer with built-in combat features. There are three Wilderness worlds: The Wilderness Overworld, The Nether, and The End. Players are free to explore, build, farm, loot and collect resources in these worlds at their own risk. New players are able to explore The Wilderness and collect resources so that they can earn emeralds and claim land.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Warning! Griefing, stealing, and combat are allowed in The Wilderness.**

Be careful when sending and accepting teleport requests, as other players will be able to kill you and take all your items. Bullying and harassment are against the [server rules](/server-rules).
{% endhint %}

You can explore The Wilderness using the `/explore wilderness` command. This command will teleport you to a random location in The Wilderness Overworld. While exploring, try to collect as many resources as you can without dying. You can save your location using the `/location save <name>` command. When you are done exploring, use the `/spawn` command to teleport back to The Frontier with the items you collected.

{% hint style="info" %}
[Ender chests](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Ender_Chest) can be used by new players to safely store items and resources until they have access to protected storage. There are ender chests available at the server spawn location.
{% endhint %}

# Exploring The Frontier

How to find settlements, homes, markets, shops, and claimable plots

The Frontier is a safe and peaceful world for building, hanging out, and role-playing. Players can claim land in The Frontier by creating settlements. Settlement owners can create homes, markets, and shops in their settlements. Homes can be sold or rented to other players for emeralds. Shops allow players to trade items with other players. Markets have villagers which players can trade with. Players can use the explore command to teleport to settlements, homes, markets, and shops created by other players.

{% embed url="<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUHN5n7FU_c>" %}

### Exploring Settlements

Players can find popular settlements on the server using the `/explore settlements` command. Settlements with lots of residents, shops, and sponsorships will be explored first. Just like all other explore commands, players can keep executing this command to teleport around to other settlements.

<figure><img src="/files/bMaHv9lHlp4oqITTOVAq" alt=""><figcaption><p>Settlement #40 Addingham featuring beautiful homes, shops, and markets (owned by Swackle)</p></figcaption></figure>

### Exploring Homes

Players can find homes for rent and homes for sale using the `/explore homes` command. Players can use the `/explore homes forrent` command to find homes for rent and the `/explore homes forsale` command to find homes for sale. If you find a home that you like you can [rent it](/how-to-play/renting-real-estate) or [buy it](/land-management/home-ownership#buying-homes) as long as you have enough emeralds to do so.

<figure><img src="/files/0wjI1DwhAM4WwVKiji3O" alt=""><figcaption><p>Settlement #254 Sakura featuring beautiful homes for rent (owned by CalipsoMoon)</p></figcaption></figure>

### Exploring Markets

Markets provide players access to villagers which they can trade with. Players can find markets on the server using the `/explore markets` command.

Each villager has a [profession](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Villager#Professions) which determines the trades that they offer. You can find markets with specific villager professions using the `/explore markets with <profession>` command.

There are many different kinds of items that can be sold to villagers at a market. For example, players can catch fish using a fishing rod and then sell those fish to a fisherman. Alternatively, new players could farm crops in a rented home and then sell those crops to a farmer.

If you find a market that you like, you can save it using the `/market save` command. You can then teleport to your saved markets using the `/market list` command.

<figure><img src="/files/54xGcNNIJcSjoVBomUMZ" alt=""><figcaption><p>Settlement #25 Fort Blocks featuring markets The Armory and Wizard Tower</p></figcaption></figure>

### Exploring Shops

Players can buy and sell items at shops owned by other players. Use `/explore shops` to find popular shops on the server. Shops are managed players and contain chest shops which can be used to buy and sell items with other players even when they are offline.

Use `/explore shops buying <item>` to find shops buying a specific item on the server.

Use `/explore shops selling <item>` to find shops selling a specific item on the server.

Players can use these commands multiple times to teleport around to different shops while looking to buy or sell specific items. The name of the item will be suggested to you as you type.

If you find a shop that you like, you can save it using the `/shop save` command. You can then teleport to your saved shops using the `/shop list` command.

<figure><img src="/files/DpGMKLOOSzAWJqVxb2dH" alt=""><figcaption><p>Settlement #395 Syringa Valley featuring lumber shop Valley Mill (Owned by TarragonMom)</p></figcaption></figure>

### Exploring Unclaimed Land

Players can find claimable plots in The Frontier using the `/explore unclaimed` command. This command will teleport you to a random unclaimed location in The Frontier. If you find a place you like, you can claim it by creating a settlement using the `/settlement create` command. If you do not have enough emeralds to claim it, you can save it using the `/location save` command.

<figure><img src="/files/BvaM4VnSayzPM6Gzq77q" alt=""><figcaption><p>Unclaimed land on Foundation Craft (as of March 19, 2024)</p></figcaption></figure>

# Saving Locations

How to save your location and teleport back later

Players can explore lots of different locations on the server from the safe, beautiful, and protected world of The Frontier to the dangerous, lawless, and uncharted worlds of The Wilderness.

While exploring, you are likely to find locations on the server that you want to save so that you can teleport back later. Players can save their location on the server using the `/location save <name>` command. This command provides a similar function as the `/sethome` command on other servers.

### Teleporting To Saved Locations

Players can teleport to their saved locations using the `/location spawn <name>` command.

### Deleting Saved Locations

Players can delete saved locations using the `/location unsave <name>` command.

{% hint style="info" %}
There are three different kinds of savable locations on the server: Wilderness, Settlement, and Claimable. Players are allowed to save 4 locations of each type. Members are allowed to save 12 locations of each type.
{% endhint %}

# Earning Emeralds

The best ways to earn emeralds on the server

Emeralds are used as the server currency. Players can earn emeralds by trading with villagers, selling items to player-owned shops, leveling up their skills, and voting for the server. Emeralds can be used to buy items, claim land, and invest in real estate on the server in the form of homes and shops.

### Trading With Villagers

Trading with villagers is one of the best ways to earn emeralds on the server. Players can find villagers to trade with using the `/explore markets` command, or use the `/explore markets with <profession>` command to find villagers of a specific [profession](/playing-minecraft/villager-professions). For example, players can find farmers to trade with using the `/explore markets with farmer` command.

One of the most profitable ways to earn emeralds is by mining clay and selling it to masons. Players can find clay using the `/explore wilderness` command and looking for lush caves which naturally generate clay. Players can then mine the clay and sell it to masons. Players can find masons to trade with using the `/explore markets with mason` command.

Another very profitable way to earn emeralds is by renting a home and selling crops to farmers. Players can find farmers to trade with using the `/explore markets with farmer` command.

{% hint style="info" %}
Players can also find villagers to trade with in [The Wilderness Overworld](/land-management/server-worlds#the-wilderness-overworld). Players are discouraged from hoarding a large number of villagers in The Wilderness, as doing so may cause them to [get sick and die](/additional-features/non-vanilla-mechanics#villagers-getting-sick).
{% endhint %}

### Selling Items To Shops

If you are unable to sell your items to a villager then you may still be able to sell your items to a shop. Shops are owned and managed by players and provide an additional layer of complexity on top of the villager economy by allowing players to trade items with each other even when they are offline. Players can find shops buying a specific item using the `/explore shops buying <item>` command.

### Voting For The Server

Players can also earn up to 100 emeralds per day by [voting for the server](/vote-for-emeralds). Voting for the server also helps us get more players. Players can use the `/vote` command to learn how to vote.

# Renting Real Estate

How to rent homes and shops owned by other players

Players can temporarily rent plots of land, also known as real estate, from other players using emeralds. There are two types of real estate: homes and shops. It is generally recommended to rent a home before you rent a shop, as homes provide significant value to new players.

### Renting Homes

Renting a home provides new players access to protected storage, furnaces, farmland and more.

Players can use the `/explore homes forrent` command to find homes for rent. If you find a home you like, you can use the `/home rent` command to start renting the home. Home owners are not allowed to evict or kick residents from a home that they are renting. The only way for a home renter to be evicted is if they fail to pay rent. Rent is automatically collected by the server every 24 hours.

Residents can teleport to their primary home using the `/home spawn` command. If you have multiple homes then you can teleport to a specific home using the `/home spawn <name>` command.

{% hint style="info" %}
Home renters can stop renting at any time using the `/home stoprenting` command.
{% endhint %}

### Renting Shops

Renting a shop allows players to conveniently trade items with other players, even when they are offline.

Players can use the `/explore shops forrent` command to find shops available for rent. If you find a shop you like, you can use the `/shop rent` command to start renting the shop. Shop owners are not allowed to evict or kick players from a shop they are renting. The only way for a shop renter to be evicted is if they fail to pay rent. Rent is automatically collected by the server every 24 hours.

Shop renters can teleport to their shops using the `/shop spawn <name>` command or using the `/shop list` command and clicking "Spawn" next to the shop they want to teleport to.

{% hint style="info" %}
Shop renters can stop renting at any time using the `/shop stoprenting` command.
{% endhint %}

# Buying Real Estate

How to buy homes and shops owned by other players

Players can purchase plots of land, also known as real estate, from other players using emeralds. There are two types of real estate: homes and shops. It is generally recommended to buy a home before you buy a shop, as homes provide significant value to new players.

### Buying Homes

Buying homes allows players to purchase protected land in settlements for emeralds with the option of then [renting](#renting-homes) or [reselling](#selling-homes) the home to other players for emeralds. Players can flip homes for a profit by buying a home, fixing it up, and then reselling it for more emeralds than they bought it for.

Players can find homes to buy using the `/explore homes forsale` command. Use this command multiple times to explore all homes for sale on the server. Players can use the `/home buy` command to purchase a home. If there are no homes for sale then creating a new settlement is always an option.

{% hint style="info" %}
In addition to the sale price, home owners must pay [taxes](/land-management/home-ownership#home-taxes) to the settlement owner each day.
{% endhint %}

### Buying Shops

Buying shops allows players to purchase protected land in settlements for emeralds with the option of then [renting](#renting-shops) or [reselling](#selling-shops) the shop to other players for emeralds. Players can flip shops for a profit by buying a shop, fixing it up, and then reselling it for more emeralds than they bought it for.

Players can find shops to buy using the `/explore shop forsale` command. Use this command multiple times to explore all shops for sale on the server. Players can use the `/shop buy` command to purchase a shop. If there are no shops for sale then you always have the option of creating a new settlement, as settlement owners can create both homes and shops in their settlements.

{% hint style="info" %}
In addition to the sale price, shop owners must pay taxes to the settlement owner each day.
{% endhint %}

# Land Management

How to claim, buy, rent and sell protected land on the server

The server provides a powerful land management system which allows players to purchase and rent protected land on the server similar to a real-world real estate economy. This allows players to build large communities with [home owners](/land-management/home-ownership), [home renters](/how-to-play/renting-real-estate), and [players trusted with specific permissions](/land-management/settlement-ranks).

Players can claim land on the server by creating a settlement in The Frontier. Players can then claim additional plots for their settlement which can be converted into homes and shops. Homes can be sold or rented to other players for emeralds. All claimed land is automatically protected by the server.

### Settlements And Homes

Settlements are public, while homes are private. Anyone can teleport to a settlement, but only the current home resident can teleport to a home. Homes are owned, managed, and resided in by one player at a time, while settlements allow multiple players to collaborate on builds together.

{% hint style="info" %}
Players are encouraged to both rent and buy a home before creating a settlement.
{% endhint %}

### How Land Is Protected

All blocks in claimed plots are protected by the server including chests, shulker boxes, decorated pots, armor stands, item frames and more. Settlement owners can build and access protected storage in all plots claimed by their settlement, except for those which have been claimed by homes or shops that are owned by other players. Renters are not allowed to build but they do have exclusive access to protected storage while renting. Markets are owned exclusively by the settlement owner.

{% hint style="info" %}
All plots in The Frontier are protected by the server to prevent [griefing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Griefing).
{% endhint %}

# Creating Settlements

How to create settlements and claim land on the server

Players can claim land on the server by creating settlements in [The Frontier](/land-management/server-worlds#the-frontier). It costs new players 2,500 emeralds to create their first settlement, with the cost of upgrading and creating settlements increasing for each player over time as they claim more land.

### Finding Claimable Land

To get started, use the `/explore unclaimed` command to find claimable plots in The Frontier. If you find a plot you like but do not have enough emeralds to claim it then you can use the `/plot save` command to save the location so that you can come back and claim it later. Once you find the right location and have enough emeralds, you can claim it using the `/settlement create` command.

### Claiming Land For Settlements

Creating a settlement claims the first settlement plot. Additional plots can then be claimed for the settlement using the `/settlement claim` command. Those plots can then be converted into [homes](/land-management/home-ownership) and [shops](/land-management/shop-ownership) using the `/home create` and `/shop create` commands. Homes and shops can be rented and sold to other players. Shops can be used to trade items for emeralds with other players.

### Upgrading Settlements

Settlement owners can upgrade their settlements using the `/settlement upgrade` command which increases the number of plots that can be claimed for the settlement. Settlements start at level 1 allowing them to claim up to 10 plots. When a settlement is upgraded to level 2, the settlement owner will be able to claim up to 25 plots. After that, the number of plots that can be claimed increases by 25 plots per additional level. For example, level 3 settlements can claim a total of 50 plots while level 5 settlements can claim a total of 100 plots. Settlements can be upgraded all the way to level 15 which allows a total of 350 plots to be claimed. Upgrading settlements also increases the [settlement limits](/additional-features/non-vanilla-mechanics#settlement-limits).

{% hint style="info" %}
The cost of upgrading a settlement is equal to the cost of creating a new settlement.
{% endhint %}

### Changing Settlement Names

Settlement owners can name their settlement using the `/settlement rename <name>` command while standing in the settlement that they want to rename. Players can teleport to settlements by name using the `/settlement spawn <name>` command.

### Changing Settlement Spawn

Settlement owners can set their settlement spawn location using the `/settlement setspawn` command while standing in any plot claimed by the settlement as long as the plot has not been claimed by a home, shop, or market.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Pro tip:** Players can [use the "F3 + G" keyboard shortcut to show and hide chunk borders](https://www.wikihow.com/See-Chunk-Borders-in-Minecraft) which is helpful when claiming plots for settlements and when using plot commands.
{% endhint %}

# Settlement Ranks

How to give other players specific permissions in your settlements

Settlement owners can use the `/settlement setrank` command to give other players permission to do specific things in their settlement by giving them one of the following settlement ranks:

### Visitors

Visitors are allowed to interact in unlocked settlement plots. Visitors are not allowed to interact in locked settlement plots. This is the default settlement rank for all players. Settlement owners can ban Visitors from their settlement using the `/s ban <name>` command which kicks players from the settlement and prevents them from teleporting back to the settlement in the future.

### Farmers

Farmers can plant and harvest crops in any plot claimed by the settlement unless the plot has also been claimed by a home, shop, or market. Farmers are also allowed to use composters in the settlement as well as interact in locked settlement plots.

### Ranchers

Ranchers can name, feed, lead, attack, and interact with animals (aka [mobs](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Mob)) in any plot claimed by the settlement unless the plot has also been claimed by a home, shop, or market. In addition to these permissions, Ranchers also inherit all permissions granted to Farmers.

### Builders

Builders can place blocks, break blocks, and access protected storage in any plot claimed by the settlement unless the plot has also been claimed by a home, shop, or market. In addition to these permissions, Builders also inherit all permissions granted to Ranchers.

### Managers

Managers can promote and demote players to any of the above ranks in the settlement. Managers can also ban and unban players from the settlement, lock and unlock settlement plots, and toggle flight for any Member in the settlement. Players can only be promoted to the Manager rank by the settlement owner. In addition to these permissions, Managers also inherit all permissions granted to Builders.

{% hint style="info" %}
Players can use the `/settlement players` command to see all of the home owners, home renters, and players trusted with specific permissions in a settlement.
{% endhint %}

# Home Ownership

How to create, rent, sell, and manage the homes you own

Players can create homes in their settlements which can then be sold or rented to other players for emeralds. Renting homes to other players allows home owners to earn passive income on their homes. Homes are managed by one player at a time, meaning that there is only one player who is allowed to build and access protected storage within each home. As such, homes provide players access to the most safe and protected land on the server.

### Creating Homes

Settlement owners can create homes in their settlements using the `/home create` command while standing in a plot claimed by their settlement. Settlement owners can then claim additional plots for the home using the `/home claim` command while standing in a plot adjacent to the home. All homes must be separated from other homes, shops, and markets by at least one plot.

### Renting Homes

Home owners can use the `/home rent <amount>` command to make their home available for rent to other players. Homes for rent are discoverable when using the `/explore homes forrent` command. Home renters have exclusive access to protected storage while renting a home.

For example, you can use `/home rent 25` while standing in a home that you own to start renting the home for 25 emeralds per day. You can stop renting your home at any time, as long as the home is not actively being rented by another player. The server will automatically collect rent from home renters every 24 hours. Home renters will automatically be evicted from the home if they fail to pay rent.

{% hint style="info" %}
Players are not allowed to build in rented homes. Home owners cannot build or access protected storage in homes which are being rented by another player.
{% endhint %}

### Selling Homes

Home owners can sell their homes to other players for emeralds. Selling a home allows players to permanently transfer ownership of their home to another player for a one-time fee.

Use `/home sell <amount>` to start selling one of your homes. Homes for sale are discoverable when using the `/explore homes forsale` command. Once a home has been sold, ownership of the home is transferred to the new home owner meaning that the previous home owner will no longer be able to build or access protected storage in the home.

{% hint style="info" %}
Homes in popular settlements with cool builds are generally worth more emeralds.
{% endhint %}

### **Home Taxes**

Home owners must pay taxes to the settlement owner. The tax amount is 2 emeralds per plot per day. If a home owner fails to pay their taxes then the settlement owner may choose to reclaim ownership of the home using the `/home reclaim` command.

# Shop Ownership

How to create, rent, sell, and manage the shops you own

Players can use shops to trade items with other players for emeralds. This is possible using chest shops, which allow other players to buy or sell specific items to or from your shop by clicking on signs. Shops themselves can also be rented or sold to other players for emeralds.

### Creating Shops

Settlement owners can create shops in their settlements using the `/shop create` command. You must be standing in a settlement that you own to use this command. You can then claim additional plots for the shop using `/shop claim` while standing in a plot near your shop. All shops must be separated from other homes, shops, and markets by at least one plot.

### **Creating Chest Shops**

Chest shops are chests with signs on them. The sign on the chest is a contract between the buyer and seller defining what is being bought or sold and for how much. The first line on the sign indicates whether the chest shop is buying or selling. The remaining lines indicate what item is being bought or sold and for how many emeralds. Chest shops will only work if they are in a plot claimed by a shop.

<figure><img src="/files/odEaStV5RzxGYvZnT1R9" alt=""><figcaption><p>Example of chest shops on Foundation Craft</p></figcaption></figure>

### Renting Shops

Shop owners can use the `/shop rent <amount>` command to make their shop available for rent to other players. Shops for rent are discoverable when using the `/explore shops forrent` command. Shop renters have exclusive access to protected storage while renting a shop.

For example, you can use `/shop rent 25` while standing in a shop that you own to start renting the shop for 25 emeralds per day. You can stop renting your shop at any time, as long as the shop is not actively being rented by another player. The server will automatically collect rent from shop renters every 24 hours. Shop renters will automatically be evicted from the shop if they fail to pay rent.

{% hint style="info" %}
Players are not allowed to build in rented shops. Shop owners cannot build or access protected storage in shops which are being rented by another player.
{% endhint %}

### Selling Shops

Shop owners can sell their shops to other players for emeralds. Selling a shop allows players to permanently transfer ownership of their shop to another player for a one-time fee.

Use `/shop sell <amount>` to start selling one of your shops. Shops for sale are discoverable when using the `/explore shops forsale` command. Once a shop has been sold, ownership of the shop is transferred to the new shop owner meaning that the previous shop owner will no longer be able to build or access protected storage in the shop.

{% hint style="info" %}
Shops in large settlements with lots of foot traffic are generally worth more emeralds.
{% endhint %}

### Shop Taxes

Shop owners must pay taxes to the settlement owner. The tax amount is 2 emeralds per plot per day. If a shop owners fails to pay their taxes then the settlement owner may choose to reclaim ownership of the shop using the `/shop reclaim` command.

# Market Ownership

How to create and manage markets on the server

Players can create markets in their settlements and spawn villagers in their markets. Markets allow players to easily earn passive income, as market owners earn 10% profit on all market trading revenue. For example, if a player buys an item from a villager in your market for 10 emeralds then you will automatically earn 1 emerald on that trade as profit. Unlike homes and shops, markets cannot be sold or rented as they are owned exclusively and permanently by the settlement owner.

### Creating Markets

Settlement owners can create markets in their settlements using the `/market create` command while standing in a plot claimed by their settlement. Settlement owners can then claim additional plots for the market using the `/market claim` command while standing in a plot adjacent to the market. All markets must be separated from other homes, shops, and markets by at least one plot.

### Spawning Villagers

Settlement owners can spawn villagers in their markets using the `/pet villager` command. Players will be charged 25,000 emeralds for each villager that they spawn. Villagers are not allowed to leave markets, and will be teleported back to the market spawn if they attempt to leave the market.

{% hint style="info" %}
Villagers are the most expensive thing that players can buy on the server.
{% endhint %}

# Server Worlds

A description of all the worlds on the server

### **The Wilderness Overworld**

The Wilderness Overworld is basically like [The Overworld](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Overworld) in vanilla Minecraft with [difficulty](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Difficulty) set to hard. There are no rules in The Wilderness, other than the [server rules](/server-rules) which apply to all worlds. All players can break blocks, build, grief, loot, steal, and engage in combat with other players. Players cannot teleport while engaged in combat, and will be instantly killed if they logout while engaged in combat. Just like vanilla Minecraft, players will lose all their items if they die. The border radius in this world is 16,000 blocks meaning that the world border is 32,000 by 32,000 blocks. The Wilderness Overworld will either be expanded or reset each year following the new major Minecraft update.

### **The Nether**

The Nether dimension can be accessed using a [Nether Portal](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Nether_portal) in The Wilderness Overworld. The Nether is also considered part of The Wilderness and has the same rules as all other wilderness worlds. The border radius in The Nether is 4,000 blocks meaning that the world border is 8,000 by 8,000 blocks. The Nether will be reset each year after the new Minecraft update during The End Reset Event.

### **The End**

The End dimensions can be accessed using an [End Portal](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/End_portal) in The Wilderness Overworld. The End is also considered part of The Wilderness and has the same rules as all other wilderness worlds. The border radius in The End is 16,000 blocks meaning that the world border is 32,000 by 32,000 blocks. The End will be reset each year after the new Minecraft update during The End Reset Event.

### **The Frontier**

The Frontier is a safe and peaceful world with protected plots of land which can be claimed by players for emeralds. The difficulty in The Frontier is set to peaceful, combat is disabled, explosions are disabled, fire spread is disabled, and all blocks and entities in the world are automatically protected by the server. Players do not gain or lose hunger when playing in this world. There is an [interactive 3D Map](https://map.foundationcraft.com/) of The Frontier on our website. The border radius in The Frontier is 16K blocks meaning that the world border is 32,000 by 32,000 blocks. The Frontier will never be reset or deleted. Instead, the world border will be expanded when necessary.

### **The Arena**

The Arena is a safe world where players can engage in combat without taking significant risks. Players can teleport to The Arena using the `/spawn arena` command. Players will not lose any items or experience if they die in this world and, with the exception of shields, items will not lose any durability in this world only. Players will have 15 seconds of invulnerability after teleporting to The Arena. After that, players can engage in combat with other players in The Arena. Players can also challenge other players to a duel in The Arena with the winner of the duel receiving the head of the player they kill.

# Additional Features

Learn more about additional features on the server

Foundation Craft is a survival and economy server with lots of cool features including an intuitive chat system, a skills system, and easy-to-use commands. The server is considered to be vanilla+ meaning it is similar to vanilla Minecraft but different in some important ways, which are documented here. This section of the website contains information about all the additional features the server provides.

### Withdrawing Emeralds

Emeralds will be automatically withdrawn from your account balance as needed when trading with villagers, so there is no need to withdraw emeralds manually before trading with villagers.

### Item Drop Events

The server will occasionally host item drop events which provide free music, fireworks, and items. All online players are welcome to attend such events.

### Sleeping In Beds

In vanilla Minecraft, players can click on beds to set their default respawn location. On Foundation Craft, a player's respawn location is either their primary home, primary settlement, or the server spawn location. As such, clicking on beds does not change your default respawn location but it will make you [fully rested](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Insomnia) which will prevent phantoms from attacking you in The Wilderness.

# Chat System

Everything you need to know about the Foundation Craft chat system

Foundation Craft provides a simple and intuitive chat system with a clean user interface. Players can send messages in the global, local, and group chat channels which are prefixed by their display name. Players can also send direct messages (aka private messages) using the `/message` command.

### Chat Channels

Players can use the `/chat` command to change their default chat channel. When you send a chat message it will automatically be sent to your default chat channel. For example, players can use the `/chat local` command to use the local chat which sends messages to nearby players.

Players can use the `/group create` command to create a group chat channel and then add other players to their group using the `/group invite <player>` command. Those players can join the group using the `/group join <player>` command which allows them to participate in the group chat. Anyone in the group can invite other players to join the group.

### Chat Broadcasts

Players can broadcast information in chat such as their balance, skill levels, experience levels, or items they are holding using the `/broadcast` command. Similar broadcasts will be shown to online players automatically when players level up their skills, buy homes, start renting homes, or create settlements.

The server will periodically show random information broadcasts in chat to try and help new players. These broadcasts can be turned off using the `/player settings` command.

### The Helper AI

Foundation Craft provides a helpful and knowledgable chat bot named Helper AI which uses the information on our website to answer questions about the server via the in-game chat system. The Helper AI will automatically try to answer relevant questions in global chat. Players can also ask the Helper AI a question privately using the `/ask` command.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The server will automatically mute players if their message appears to violate the server rules. Similarly, broadcasts will be sent in the global chat if a player appears to be using an unfair client-side modification.
{% endhint %}

# Skills System

Featuring level up rewards and perks for high skill levels

There are 10 skills on Foundation Craft, all listed below. Players will automatically earn skill experience when performing actions relevant to each skill. For example, players will earn farming experience when harvesting crops and woodcutting experience when cutting down trees.

* Attack - earn experience by dealing damage in combat
  * Damage dealt is 1% higher for each skill level you have
* Defense - earn experience by taking or blocking damage
  * Player health is 1% higher for each skill level you have
* Mining - earn experience by mining stone and ores
  * Item drops increase by 1% for each skill level you have (except for ores in The Frontier)
* Woodcutting - earn experience by cutting down trees
  * Item drops increase by 1% for each skill level you have
* Excavation - earn experience by breaking solid blocks
  * Item drops increase by 1% for each skill level you have
* Farming - earn experience by harvesting crops
  * Item drops increase by 1% for each skill level you have
* Fishing - earn experience by catching fish
  * Fishing times are 1% faster for each skill level you have
* Cooking - earn experience by cooking food in furnaces
  * Cooking is 1% faster for each skill level you have
* Smelting - earn experience by smelting ores in furnaces
  * Smelting times are 1% faster for each skill level you have
* Alchemy - earn experience by brewing and using potions
  * Brew times are 1% faster for each skill level you have

### Leveling Up Skills

Players can level up their skills by performing actions relevant to each skill and earning skill experience. The server rewards players with one emerald per skill level they have when they level up. The higher you level up your skills, the more emeralds you will receive.

{% hint style="info" %}
There is no max skill level on Foundation Craft. Players can continue to level up their skills indefinitely, but it does get significantly harder to level up your skills at higher skill levels.
{% endhint %}

# Combat System

How the server automatically provides a fair environment for players engaging in combat

Foundation Craft provides a fair and competitive player-versus-player (aka PvP) gameplay experience for players thanks to our simple and intuitive combat system. Players are shown a combat warning when teleporting to dangerous locations in The Wilderness where PvP is allowed.

<figure><img src="/files/jsjWtF1tnsHGkE7goIzz" alt=""><figcaption><p>Combat warning shown when teleporting to other players in The Wilderness</p></figcaption></figure>

Players are automatically protected with 15 seconds of invulnerability after teleporting to any kind of dangerous location on the server, during which they are able to teleport away safely if they choose.

<figure><img src="/files/qfdvG0gBnOAlnxwQMfNZ" alt=""><figcaption><p>Players have 15 seconds of invulnerability after accepting teleport requests during which they cannot take damage</p></figcaption></figure>

Players remain "engaged in combat" for 15 seconds after attacking other players or getting attacked by other players. Players are not allowed to teleport away or log out while engaged in combat. This is necessary to prevent players from leaving when it becomes clear that they are going to die.

<figure><img src="/files/Iz2F1FGTG50wSsT24a40" alt=""><figcaption><p>Players remain "engaged in combat" for 15 seconds after attacking other players or getting attacked by other players</p></figcaption></figure>

After 15 seconds of surviving without taking damage from players or dealing damage to players in PvP the player will be notified that they are no longer engaged in combat at which point they are able to safely teleport away or log out of the server if they choose.

<figure><img src="/files/TPFR6RIMaJ9poF39E8yh" alt=""><figcaption><p>Players are not allowed to teleport away and will be killed for logging out while engaged in combat</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
These various states of combat are called combat modes and they are used to help inform players about what rules are actively being enforced and when.
{% endhint %}

# Anti Cheat System

How the server anti cheat system automatically enforces server rules

The server utilizes a powerful and sophisticated anti cheat system to detect when players appear to be using client-side modifications to gain an unfair competitive advantage over other players.

### Policy On Hacking

As stated in the [Server Rules](/server-rules#rule-5-no-hacking-or-unfair-client-side-modifications), Foundation Craft has a strict no hacking policy which is necessary to keep the economy sustainable and provide a fair and competitive gameplay experience for all players.

Anything that enables an unfair competitive gameplay advantage is considered hacking. This includes the use of unfair client-side modifications such as auto clickers, bots, xray, baritone, and any similar software. Using a physical device of any kind - such as a paper weight or tape - to hold down a key on your keyboard or mouse is considered an unfair advantage and is against the server rules. In general, if your player is performing some action such as clicking or moving then you need to be the one doing it.

### Anti Cheat Violations

The anti cheat system will detect when players are doing something which should not be possible using the vanilla Minecraft client. If this action could be used to gain an unfair advantage over other players, the player will receive an anti cheat violation. The first violation notifies the Admin team, allowing them to investigate. The second violation is broadcast in global chat, notifying the player that their actions appear to violate the server rules. The third violation will be automatically handled by the anti cheat system. If the violation was triggered by the use of obviously unfair hacks then the player will be banned, otherwise they will just be kicked. Kicked players can simply re-join the server, while banned players must appeal their ban using the contact form on our website.

### **Using Client-Side Modifications**

The server does not endorse or recommend any client-side modifications (aka "mods") but they are very popular and many players choose to use them anyway. If you choose to use mods, we recommend that you use trusted open source mods to protect yourself from computer viruses (aka malware).

{% hint style="danger" %}
According to Kaspersky, Minecraft is the #1 game for malware. [Their study](https://securelist.com/gaming-related-cyberthreats-2021-2022/107346/) found that 25% of **all gaming-related malware** is distributed through Minecraft mods and related software.
{% endhint %}

Players are only allowed to use mods that do not give them a competitive gameplay advantage. For example, players are allowed to use cosmetic mods such as shaders and Xaero's Minimap. Players are allowed to use freecam as long as they do not use it to change their player's location. Players are allowed to use fullbright for accessibility reasons.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you have any questions about what mods are allowed, please ask us on Discord.
{% endhint %}

# Membership Perks

A list of all perks provided to server members

Players can [become Members](https://www.patreon.com/FoundationCraft) to support the server, influence future changes to the server, reduce chat and explore command cooldowns, save extra locations, and receive access to customizable cosmetic perks such as special chat prefixes, colors, glowing effects, particle effects, and emotes.

### **Flying In The Frontier**

Members are allowed to fly in unclaimed plots in The Frontier as well as within the borders of any settlement that they own! This is not a competitive gameplay advantage, as The Frontier is a safe and peaceful world for building with combat disabled and land fully protected. Other players can also allow Members to fly in their settlement using the `/settlement togglefly <player>` command.

### **Extra Saved Locations**

Players can save locations on the server using the `/location save <name>` command. There are three types of saved locations: Settlement, Wilderness, and Claimable locations. Players can save 4 of each location type, while Members can save 12 of each location type.

### Create More Settlements

Members are allowed to create a total of 6 settlements on the server, which is three times higher than the limit for all other players. This is not a competitive gameplay advantage, as all settlement features are available to all players, this perk just allows Members to build additional settlements for fun.

### **Global Chat Cooldown**

The server has a 3 second chat cooldown which prevents players from sending more than one message in global chat within 3 seconds. Members are able to bypass this cooldown.

### **Explore Command Cooldown**

Players are allowed to use the `/explore unclaimed` and `/explore wilderness` commands at most 10 times each per hour, while Members are allowed to bypass this restriction.

### **Player Name Command**

Members can use the `/player name` command to choose a custom name which is displayed in chat. Members are also able to change their rank from the default Player rank to the Member rank.

### **Player Color Command**

Members can use the `/player color` command to change the color of their name in chat, glow color, and particle effects. There are different particle effects shown when players are performing various actions. Smoke will show when running, bubbles will show when swimming, ash will show when flying, and particles of the players chosen color will show when otherwise moving.

### **Player Settings Command**

The `/player settings` command can be used by players to change their player rank to show a Member prefix in chat, as well as show particle effects when players move and enable glowing which shows an outline around player avatars in-game set to each players chosen color.

### **The Emote Command**

The `/emote` command can be used to show various emotes in-game. Using `/emote charge` will strike the player with lightening from the sky without doing any damage. Using `/emote love` will show hearts around the player while using `/emote anger` will express frustration.

### **The Hat Command**

The `/hat` command can be used by Members to wear any block as a hat in-game! Hats are purely cosmetic and do not provide any competitive gameplay advantage.

# Non-Vanilla Mechanics

All of the ways that Foundation Craft deviates from vanilla Minecraft

To keep the economy competitive and optimize server performance, Foundation Craft deviates from vanilla Minecraft in a few important ways, all of which are documented here.

## Gameplay Mechanic Changes

***

* Villager breeding is disabled in all worlds
* Allay breeding is disabled in The Frontier
* Mobs will not spawn naturally in claimed plots
* Withers cannot spawn near unbreakable blocks
* Mobs and items cannot travel through [End Portals](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/End_portal)
* Building and mob spawns are disabled on [The Nether](https://minecraft.wiki/w/The_Nether) roof
* Players will die if they log out while engaged in player-versus-player combat
* [Zombie villager curing](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Tutorial:Curing_a_zombie_villager) is nerfed by clearing villager reputations during restock

### Ominous Events

Players may trigger at most one [ominous event](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Ominous_Event), such as a [raid](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Raid) or [ominous trial](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Ominous_Trial), per 12 hours. This is necessary to prevent players from building over-powered (OP) farms in The Wilderness.

### Ores In The Wilderness

Players are not allowed to place any ore blocks (aka "ores") in The Wilderness, as doing so introduces exploits to the [skills system](/additional-features/skills-system) perks which could be exploited for an unfair competitive advantage.

### Villagers Getting Sick

Villagers in The Wilderness have a small chance of getting sick when restocking their trades. When a villager gets sick, they may get other nearby villagers sick causing them to die. This de-incentivizes players from aggregating a large number of villagers in the same location in The Wilderness.

### **Mob Spawn Limits**

There are a finite number of mobs that can spawn in each location on the server. If there are too many mobs in one area then new mobs will be temporarily restricted from spawning in that area. The limit is different for each world but this restriction should not impact normal gameplay.

### Wealth Transfer Limits

As documented on our [Server Rules](/server-rules) page, there are limits on how much wealth players are allowed to transfer to other players. In most cases, the server will automatically enforce this rule.

### Removing Dropped Items

The server will automatically remove all low-value items dropped in a chunk when the chunk is unloaded. This helps mitigate lag and does not apply to items dropped when a player dies.

## Block Placement Limits

***

There are limits on how many blocks of certain types can be placed in settlements, homes, and wilderness plots for each of the following types of blocks: pistons, hoppers, minecarts, armor stands, brewing stands, furnaces (blast furnaces and smokers), storage containers (chests, barrels, and shulker boxes), and redstone blocks (repeaters, comparators, observers, dispensers, and droppers).

### Settlement Limits

Settlement limits are based on the settlement's upgrade level, meaning that the limits for your settlement will increase each time you upgrade it. You can view the current limits for your settlement using the `/s limits` command.

### Home Limits

Home limits are based on the number of plots claimed by the home, meaning that larger homes will have higher limits. You can view the current limits for your home using the `/h limits` command.

### Shop Limits

Shop limits are based on the number of plots claimed by the shop, meaning that larger shops will have higher limits. You can view the current limits for your shop using the `/shop limits` command.

### Market Limits

Unlike homes and shops, each of which have their own limits which are separate from the settlement limits, markets do not have their own limits and share the limits of their settlement.

### Plot Limits

You can view plot limits in The Wilderness using the `/plot limits` command. This command is also available in The Frontier, although limits in The Frontier are not based on plots, so this command will simply tell you how many limited blocks have been placed in the plot.

{% hint style="info" %}
Players are not allowed to place pistons or minecarts in The Wilderness. The reason for this is that placement of these blocks can be used to bypass block placement limits.
{% endhint %}

# Server Commands

A comprehensive list of all commands available to players on the server

Our custom plugin Foundation provides many commands which players can use to explore the server, claim land, obtain information, and perform various actions. Simple commands are documented on this page, while more complex commands are documented under this page as subpages.

### Ask Command

Use the `/ask` command to ask the Helper AI a question about the server privately. The Helper AI will try to answer your question, and if it can, it will send you the answer as a direct message in-game.

### AFK Command

Use the `/afk` command to toggle whether or not you are away from your keyboard. If a player messages while you are away from keyboard (aka "AFK") they will be notified that you are AFK and may not see their message. Your AFK state is also shown in the server tab list.

### Balance Command

Use the `/balance` command to view the balance of any player on the server. This command has the following aliases: `/bal` `/b` `/emeralds` and `/money` all of which do the same thing.

### Buy Command

Use the `/buy <item>` command to find shops where you can buy a specific item. This command is basically an alias of the `/explore shops selling <item>` command.

### Challenge Command

Use the `/challenge` command to challenge other players to a duel in The Arena. Using this command will send a request to the player you challenge. If they accept your challenge, you will have one minute to prepare for the duel.

### Emote Command

Use the `/emote` command to express emotions in-game. For example, you could use the `/emote anger` command to express frustration. This command is only available to Members.

### Help Command

Use the `/help` command to view available commands. The commands which are currently available to you depends on your current location. For example, you must be standing in a home that is for sale to use the `/home buy` command.

### Ignore Command

Use the `/ignore` command to ignore other players in chat. Once you have ignored a player, you will no longer see the messages they send in any chat channels. Ignoring a player also prevents them from sending you direct messages.

### Message Command

Use the `/message` command to send direct messages to online players. This command has the following aliases: `/msg` `/whisper` and `/w` all of which do the same thing.

### Pay Command

Use the `/pay` command to transfer emeralds from your account balance to another player.

### Pet Command

Use the `/pet` command to buy and spawn mobs for emeralds. Using the `/pet <type>` command will tell you how much it costs to buy a mob of that type. If you are willing to pay that amount, you can then purchase the pet using the `/pet <type> confirm` command. There are many different types of pets which players can have, including villagers which are the most valuable assets on the server.

### Reply Command

Use the `/reply` or `/r` command to conveniently reply to messages. This command is nearly identical to the `/message` command, the only difference is that it does not require you to specify the name of the player that you want to message; instead, it simply sends your message to the player who you most recently sent a message to or received a message from.

### Sell Command

Use the `/sell <item>` command to find shops where you can sell a specific item. This command is basically an alias of the `/explore shops buying <item>` command.

### Sit Command

Use the `/sit` command to make your avatar sit down. If you are already sitting down you can stand back up by jumping or using this command again.

### Spawn Command

Use the `/spawn` command to teleport to the server spawn location.

Use the `/spawn arena` command to teleport to The Arena.

### Teleport Command

Use the `/teleport` or `/tp` command to send a teleport request to another player.

### Tutorial Command

Use the `/tutorial` command to learn how to get started as a new player on the server.

### Value Command

Use the `/value` command to estimate the value of the item you are holding in your main hand.

### Vote Command

Use the `/vote` command to learn how to vote for free in-game emeralds.

### Weather Command

Use the `/weather` command to change the weather you see in The Frontier.

# The Back Command

How players can obtains items they lost when they died

Just like vanilla Minecraft, players will lose their items if they die in The Wilderness. If a player is not engaged in combat when they die, they can buy their items back using the `/back` command.

Depending on what items you lost, it may cost emeralds to get your items back. New players will most likely be able to get their items back for a small fee. Using `/back` will tell you the cost of getting your items back. Using `/back confirm` will then purchase the items.

There are two different ways in which the back command will allow you to obtain your lost items. If you died in the void, in lava, or from fire damage, the back command will save your items and put them back in your inventory when you purchase them, otherwise it will teleport you back to where you died.

{% hint style="info" %}
This command provides a similar function as the keep inventory feature on other servers.
{% endhint %}

# The Broadcast Command

How players can broadcast factual information about themselves in global chat

### Broadcasting Skills

### Broadcasting Items

Players can use the `/broadcast item` command to broadcast the item that they are currently holding in their man hand.

# The Chat Command

How players can send messages in global, local, and group chat channels

### Global Chat

Global chat is visible to all online players. You can set this as your default chat channel using the `/chat global` command. If you want to send a message in global chat without changing your default chat channel you can do so using the `/chat global <message>` command.

### Local Chat

Local chat is only visible to nearby players. You can set this as your default chat channel using the `/chat local` command. If you want to send a message in local chat without changing your default chat channel you can do so using the `/chat local <message>` command.

### Group Chat

Group chat is only visible to players in a specific group. You can create a new group using the `/group create` command and add players to your group using the `/group invite` command. You can use the `/chat group` command to change your default chat channel to your current group, which means that your messages will only be visible to players who are also in your group. If you want to send a message to your group without changing your default chat channel you can do so using the `/chat group <message>` command or the `/group chat <message>` command.

# The Explore Command

How players can explore lots of different locations on the server

### Exploring The Wilderness

You can use the `/explore wilderness` command to teleport to a random location in The Wilderness. The server will attempt to find a safe location for you to teleport, and will give you 15 seconds of invulnerability so that you can teleport to safety if anything goes wrong.

### Exploring Settlements

You can use the `/explore settlements` command to teleport to popular settlements on the server. Settlements are considered more popular if they have a large community of home renters, home owners, shop renters, and shop owners. Sponsored settlements are also considered more popular.

### Exploring Homes

You can use the `/explore homes` command to find popular homes on the server which are available for rent or purchase. If you don't own or rent any homes, this command will teleport you to homes for rent first. If you already rent a home this command will teleport you to homes for sale first. You can also use the `/explore homes forrent` command if you are specifically looking for a home to rent, or use the `/explore homes forsale` command if you are specifically looking to buy a home. The server will teleport you to homes in the most popular settlements first.

### Exploring Markets

You can use the `/explore markets` command to find popular markets on the server. You can also teleport to markets with specific villagers using the `/explore markets with <profession>` command. The server will teleport you to markets in the most popular settlements first.

### Exploring Shops

You can use the `/explore shops` to find popular shops on the server. You can also teleport to shops buying specific items using the `/explore shops buying <item>` command or teleport to shops selling specific items using the `/explore shops selling <item>` command. The server will teleport you to shops in the most popular settlements first.

### Exploring Unclaimed Land

You can use the `/explore unclaimed` command to find claimable land. Using this command will teleport you to a random claimable location in The Frontier. Locations in The Frontier are considered claimable if they are far enough from existing settlements that they can be claimed by any player.

{% hint style="info" %}
Keep exploring! If you don't like the location the explore command teleported you to, you can simply re-run the command to teleport to a new location!
{% endhint %}

{% endhint %}

# The Home Command

How players can manage and view information about homes on the server

You can use the `/home` command to view all available home commands. If you are standing in a home, one of the available commands will be the `/home info` command which can be used to show helpful information about the home including the name of the home, who owns the home, how many plots have been claimed by the home, the home tax amount, and if the home is for rent, for sale, or currently being rented. If the home is available for rent, the rent amount will also be included in this information. Similarly, if the home is for sale, the purchase price will be included in this information.

### Creating Homes

Settlement owners can create a home in their settlement using the `/home create` command. Additional plots can then be claimed for the home using the `/home claim` command. There is no hard limit on the number of homes that can be created in a settlement, although homes must be separated from other homes, shops, and markets by at least one plot.

### Setting Primary Homes

Home owners can teleport to their primary home using the `/home spawn` command. If you own multiple homes, you can change your primary home using the the `/home setprimary` command which will set the home that you are currently standing in as your new primary home.

### Home History

The server keeps track of when a home resident changes. This happens when a player buys a home, starts renting a home as a resident, or stops renting a home as a resident. You can view the history of who has previous resided in a home using the `/home history` command. Note that this command was added about two years after the server launched, so the home history may be incomplete.

You can start renting a shop that is for rent using the `/shop rent` command while standing in the shop. Using this command will charge you the first day of rent, with each additional day of rent being collected by the server automatically every 24 hours. Rent is paid to the current shop owner. You can stop renting the shop as a resident at any time using the `/shop stoprenting` command.

### Selling Shops To Other Players

Shop owners can sell their shops to other players using the `/shop sell <amount>` command. This command allows other players to purchase the shop for the specified amount, called the purchase price. You can stop selling one of your shops for sale using the `/shop stopselling` command.

### Buying Shops From Other Players

You can purchase a shop that is for sale using the `/shop buy` command while standing in the shop. Using this command will charge you the purchase price which is transferred to the balance of the shop seller, at which point ownership of the shop will be transferred to you.

### Reclaiming Shops

The server automatically collects taxes from shop owners which are paid to the settlement owner. If the shop owner fails to pay this tax, the settlement owner can choose to reclaim ownership of the shop from the current shop owner using the `/shop reclaim` command.

### Relinquishing Shops

Shop owners can relinquish their shop using the `/shop relinquish` command which gives ownership of the shop back to the settlement owner. Shop owners may choose to do this if they are unable to sell the shop and no longer want to pay taxes on the shop.

### Locking Shops

You can lock all of the plots claimed by your shop using the `/shop lock` command and unlock all of the plots claimed by your shop using the `/shop unlock` command. Locking a plot prevents other players from interacting in the plot, while unlocking a plot allows certain interactions, such an opening doors and pushing buttons, but does not allow players to place blocks, break blocks, or access any kind of protected storage such as chests, armor stands, or item frames.

### Deleting Shops

Shops owned by the settlement owner can be deleting using the `/shop delete` command. Shops can only be deleted if doing so would not violate the settlement limits, otherwise some of the limited blocks placed within the shop need to be removed before the shop can be deleted.

### Shop History

The server keeps track of when a shop manager changes. This happens when a player buys a shop, starts renting a shop as a manager, or stops renting a shop as a manager. You can view the history of who has previous managed a shop using the `/shop history` command. Note that this command was added about two years after the server launched, so the shop history may be incomplete.

### Shop Trades

The server keeps track of which shop trades have been used recently and makes this information available to players via the `/shop trades` command. Shop manager can use this to see which items may need to be restocked, and can reset this list using the `/shop trades clear` command.

### Removing Entities

Shop managers can use the `/shop clear items` command to remove all of the items that have been dropped on the ground from all the plots claimed by their shop. Similarly, shop managers can use the `/shop clear animals` command to remove all unnamed mobs from their shop. You can use the `/shop clear pets` command to remove named mobs from your shop.

### Shop Limits

You can use the `/shop limits` command to see the limits for the shop that you are in.

# The Skill Command

How to learn about skills and manage your skill settings

Players can use the `/skill list` command to view a list all skills on the server along with information about how to earn experience for each skill. Players can also view the perk for each skill by hovering their cursor over the name of a specific skill in the list.

Each player has a list of their skills displayed on the right-hand side of their screen by default. This list shows the current skill level the player has achieved for each skill. In addition to this list, players have a boss bar at the top of their screen showing which skill they most recently earned experience for. Players can hide their skill sidebar and boss bar using the `/skill hide` command and re-show them using the `/skill show` command.

# Server Rules

A list of rules enforced by server staff

Breaking any of the rules below may result in temporary or permanent consequences including being muted, kicked, or banned. Report rule violations using the [contact form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeB_psyr6PfGcQFZCPzdlfD3TRnsFs3Tn1M8-bKsK1xmWxfdw/viewform) on our website.

<details>

<summary>Rule #1: No hate speech, bullying, or harassment</summary>

The purpose of Foundation Craft is to provide a safe and fun place for people all around the world to play Minecraft together. This is just a game, we are all just here to have fun. As such, we do not allow any conduct which could be considered bullying or harassment. If you say something that is intended to hurt someone's feelings the server staff will get involved.

That being said, Foundation Craft is a competitive server. Players are allowed to kill other players in The Wilderness and are not required to give back any items. Such behavior crosses the line into bullying when it becomes targeted and repetitive or includes comments intended to hurt the other player's feelings or upset them.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #2: No inappropriate or offensive language</summary>

Foundation Craft is a family-friendly server. We are committed to providing a safe and fun place for people of all ages to play Minecraft together. As such, players are not allowed to share inappropriate or offensive content on the server including but not limited to name calling, insults, profanity, or any behavior which may be considered inappropriate for kids.

That being said, Foundation Craft is a role-playing game. All players have the freedom to role-play (aka pretend) that they are a character in a story performing some actions which may or may not be available in vanilla Minecraft. For example, players are allowed to build a casino in their settlement and pretend to gamble with their friends. Similarly, players are allowed to build a brewery in their settlements and pretend to brew and drink beer with their friends. Such activities are not endorsed or promoted by the server, but the server does protect the rights of players to create and role-play in imaginary worlds that they create as long as their conduct is appropriate, considerate, and consistent with the server rules.

If at any time your role-playing makes someone else on the server feel uncomfortable you must stop role-playing immediately. If necessary, ask questions to make sure you understand what conduct made the player feel uncomfortable and take the necessary actions to prevent this from happening again in the future. It may be necessary to simply stop interacting with this player entirely. Please be considerate and respectful when role-playing with others, as your conduct may be considered offensive to them even if you did not mean any harm.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #3: No account or identity impersonation</summary>

Players are required to be honest and forthcoming about their identity on the server. This does not mean that we want to know your real name, it means that we want to know if you are using multiple accounts so that we can associate their behavior with your main account. If you use any alt accounts, you must disclose that information to any online players.

This rule is necessary to protect the server economy and make sure that all players are provided equal-opportunity on the server, as it may be possible to use multiple accounts to gain a competitive gameplay advantage (which is also against the rules).

Members are allowed to change their display name in-game, but are not allowed to change their name to anything that may confuse or misrepresent their identity on the server.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #4: No advertising, link sharing, or chat spam</summary>

Players are not allowed to use any of our chat systems to advertise or contribute to chat spam. This includes our in-game chat system as well as our chat channels on Discord.

Advertising is any form of conduct which promotes or shares third-party products or services. For example, players are not allowed to use the server chat to ask other players to join their Minecraft server. Similarly, players are not allowed to advertise for companies, share links, or share promotional content or third-party content which exists outside the server.

Chat spam is anything which pollutes the chat logs, including but not limited to sending unsolicited or confusing messages or messages lacking discernible meaning, sending excessive or repetitive broadcasts in chat, or excessive use of uppercase characters or characters which grab attention or use up space in the chat without a legitimate reason.

That being said, players are allowed to have private conversations on the server that do not violate the rules. For example, if you and your friend are playing on Foundation Craft and you want to go play a mini game on some other server then you are allowed to send a private message to your friend asking if they want to go play on that other server with you.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #5: No hacking or unfair client-side modifications</summary>

Foundation Craft has a strict no hacking policy which is necessary to keep the economy sustainable and provide a fair and competitive gameplay experience for all players.

Anything that enables an unfair competitive gameplay advantage is considered hacking, including but not limited to using unfair client-side modifications (aka "mods"). This includes auto clickers, bots, xray, baritone, and any similar software. In general, if your player is performing some action such as clicking or moving then you need to be the one doing it. You cannot use client-side modifications to control your player.

That being said, players are allowed to use some mods, such as freecam or fullbright, as these mods cannot be detected by the server and may be needed for accessibility reasons. If you have any questions about what mods are allowed, please ask us on Discord.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #6: No excessive wealth transfers</summary>

There are limits to how much wealth players are allowed to transfer to other players. There are many factors that go into determining what kinds of wealth transfer are allowed, including but not limited to the reputations of the players involved, the amount of wealth being transferred, the alleged reason for the wealth transfer, and many others.

There is a reason we don't have kits. There is a reason that new players start with nothing. For many players, the early game experience is what makes the game so much fun. Having to work your way up the economy from nothing is one of the main goals for new players. If wealthy players give new players too much wealth it interferes with the economy and takes away a significant amount of gameplay from those players.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #7: No item duplication exploits</summary>

Minecraft server software, just like any software system, may contain bugs. Most of these bugs are harmless, but sometimes they can be exploited by players for an unfair advantage.

Players are not allowed to exploit bugs in Minecraft, including "item duplication exploits" which are bugs that allow players to create items from nothing. These bugs are rare and generally get fixed very quickly, but they will occasionally get introduced. If players find one of these bugs they must report it to the server staff immediately and must not use it further.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #8: No deceiving or lying to staff members</summary>

Staff members are players who volunteer their time and effort to help keep the server safe. The staff team takes on additional responsibilities and uses their time to help others, moderate chat, and enforce the server rules. In order for the staff team to do this effectively, we must have a reasonable assumption that players are being honest with us.

To be clear, it is not against the rules to lie to another player. It is only against the rules to lie to another player if that player is a staff member.

Players have often targeted staff members deliberately and deceptively with malicious intent. To combat this, each staff member is protected by this rule and may enforce this rule at their sole discretion when they believe players are being dishonest with them. For example, it is against the rules to ask a staff member for help while you are in The Wilderness and then kill them when they teleport to help you. To be clear, players are allowed to kill staff members. But they are not allowed to do so using deceptive practices.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #9: No stealing or griefing in The Frontier</summary>

The Frontier is a safe and peaceful world for building, hanging out, and role-playing. As such, players are not allowed to steal or [grief](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Griefing) in this world. If you want to steal from other players or grief their builds then you will have to do so in The Wilderness.

If a player trusts you in their settlement then you are not allowed to steal from their settlement or build in their settlement in a way which could be considered griefing.

Griefing is any action that contributes to the destruction or modification of builds created by other players in a way that annoys, upsets, or harms other players.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #10: Claimed land must be used reasonably and respectfully</summary>

Players have the right to express themselves and their creativity when building on the server, but there are some restrictions on how players can use claimed land. This does not mean that we are we are going to tell you what to build or how to build it, it means that if you claim land on the server you are expected to use that land in a way that does not waste server resources.

For example, players are not allowed to claim excessive amounts of land in a straight line, as doing so uses up server resources inefficiently by preventing many nearby plots from being claimed by other players. Similarly, players are not allowed to claim large mountain ranges or other highly-desired biomes on the server just to destroy them leaving a massive empty void in the otherwise beautiful and natural-looking landscape.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #11: Do not use multiple accounts to bypass restrictions</summary>

Players are allowed to use multiple accounts (aka "alts") in addition to their main account. If you choose to use multiple accounts on the server, you must be honest with the server staff about what accounts are yours and you must not use those accounts to bypass restrictions.

There are some restrictions on the server which are enforced for each individual player. For example, each player is allowed to trigger one raid every 12 hours. Using one of your alt accounts to bypass this restriction is considered a violation of this rule.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Rule #12: Use English to talk in global server chat channels</summary>

The staff team is responsible for moderating the server chat. To do this effectively, we must be able to read and understand the messages that are sent in chat. Foundation Craft is based in the United States and has a primarily English-speaking community and staff team. As such, we ask all players to use English to talk in global server chat channels.

Players are allowed to send private messages to other players in any language they want, as long as the content of those messages does not violate the server rules.

</details>

In addition to these rules, players must also agree to and comply with our [Privacy Policy](/privacy-policy) and [Terms of Service](/terms-of-service). Foundation Craft reserves the right to change these rules at any time.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you disagree with a decision made by the staff team, want to report a rule violation, or want to appeal your ban or mute then you can do so using the [contact form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeB_psyr6PfGcQFZCPzdlfD3TRnsFs3Tn1M8-bKsK1xmWxfdw/viewform) on our website.
{% endhint %}

# Player Safety

How the server protects players from harassment and unwanted attention

Foundation Craft cares a great deal about the safety and well-being of our players. Our chat filter does a great job protecting players from all kinds of inappropriate language in chat, but additional tools are necessary to protect players from other kinds of unwanted in-game interactions.

This server is a [safe space](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_space) for children, teenagers, and adults because we have a strict chat filter which prevents players from sending any messages which violate the [server rules](/server-rules). The Mod and Admin teams monitor suspicious conversations to ensure the safety and well-being of this community.

{% hint style="info" %}
Players are advised not to connect with other players outside of official server channels such as in-game chat or our [official Discord server](http://discord.foundationcraft.com/). If someone invites you to join their Discord server or sends you a direct message on Discord we suggest that you ignore them to protect your safety from strangers online.
{% endhint %}

### The Ignore Command

We believe that players should have the right to choose who they want to interact with, and perhaps more importantly, who they do not want to interact with. Players can limit their interactions with other players using the `/ignore <player>` command which permanently prevents that player from sending them chat messages and hides all of the messages that they send in global chat from them.

### Privacy In Homes

Homes are intended to be private, meaning that home owners should be able to choose who they want to allow in their home and who they do not want to allow in their home. As such, home owners have the ability to kick other players from their home using the `/home kick <player>` command.

### Settlement Bans

Settlement owners can ban players from their settlements using the `/settlement ban <player>` command which permanently prevents the specified player from teleporting to their settlement. Settlement owners can choose to ban other players from their settlement for any reason.

# Server History

A summary of significant events on Foundation Craft

Foundation Craft is the result of many years of research, design, implementation, and execution by the server owner and staff team. The project was inspired by many incredible games and plugins and servers and it has grown and flourished thanks to our [members](/additional-features/membership-perks) and the many incredible volunteers on our [staff team](/server-staff). This page documents significant server events, history, updates, and milestones.

{% endembed %}

### **Server Inspiration**

Foundation Craft was inspired by many old-school Minecraft servers including [Obsidian Craft](https://web.archive.org/web/20130318174820/http://www.obsidiancraft.com/), [MassiveCraft](https://www.massivecraft.com/), and [2b2t](https://www.2b2t.org/). The server was also inspired by plugins such as [Essentials](https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/essentials), [Towny](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/towny-advanced.72694/), [Factions](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/factions.1900/) and many others. The server was also inspired by multiplayer online games with skills systems and role-playing features such as [Runescape](https://play.runescape.com/) and [World of Warcraft](https://worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com/en-us/). The server owner [vanquesh](https://namemc.com/profile/vanquesh.1) was particularly inspired by old-school Runescape when he was designing the features and gameplay mechanics for Foundation Craft. During his childhood vanquesh loved playing Runescape with his friends, leveling up his skills, going on quests, and exploring immersive online worlds. These experiences had a profoundly positive impact on his life which inspired him to create this server.

### Project Conception

This project has been in the works for a long time. As a [former server owner](https://www.planetminecraft.com/server/puremine---factions-pvp/), vanquesh is well aware how difficult it is to create and maintain a great Minecraft server. There are so many challenges right out of the gate: the server must accommodate a diverse demographic of players by providing a wide range of features including both safe and dangerous environments with various risks and rewards, must protect players from online harassment and inappropriate behavior, must ensure a competitive and sustainable server economy, and must keep players engaged and challenged while fostering a safe, fun, and fair gameplay environment. Sophisticated software systems are necessary to provide these features as the server grows and scales to support an ever-growing community of players.

One of the main challenges for Minecraft servers is keeping all plugins up-to-date and making sure all the server software is compatible and working together properly. This is a very difficult thing to do when you are using multiple different plugins created by different developers. After learning to program, vanquesh set out on one of his longtime goals of building a new kind of Minecraft server from the ground up with a custom plugin to provide all of these necessary features.

***

### **Developing Foundation**

Foundation Craft is powered by a custom Java plugin called Foundation which was designed and implemented by the server owner vanquesh in the years leading up to the public launch. The goal of Foundation is to facilitate multiplayer gameplay in the most intuitive and enjoyable way possible.

Foundation provides an immersive [MMORPG](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massively_multiplayer_online_role-playing_game)-like experience for all players with highly-integrated survival, economy, social, combat, role-playing and land management features. Foundation is a highly sophisticated software system which provides the server significant technological advantages by giving the server full control over all custom gameplay features and gameplay mechanics. The plugin helps enforce server rules, protect claimed land, and facilitate fair and competitive gameplay.

***

### **Official Public Launch**

After years of design and development, Foundation Craft was officially released to the public on January 1, 2023. The server launched as soon as vanquesh was confident that Foundation was capable of providing a safe, fun, and fair multiplayer experience with a competitive and sustainable economy and comprehensive set of features which cater to a wide demographic of players.

All four server worlds were generated on Minecraft [version 1.19](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/The_Wild_Update) providing players access to the new terrain generation released in the [Caves and Cliffs update](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/updates/caves-and-cliffs) including beautiful mountains, deeper and more intricate caves, and new biomes such as [Mangrove Swamps](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Mangrove) and [Lush Caves](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Lush_Caves). Since then, the server has been updated and the worlds expanded with even more new terrain generation.

***

### **The Slaying Of The Dragon**

On February 6, 2023, Madhin became the first player to slay the [Ender dragon](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Ender_Dragon) and obtain the first [dragon egg](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Egg) on Foundation Craft. Madhin would go on to showcase his prized possession at his settlement Abuzaka. This remained the one and only dragon egg on the server for nearly six months until The End Reset Event which reset The End and created a second dragon egg.

Madhin first joined on February 6, the same day that he obtained the dragon egg. He is not only the first player to slay the Ender dragon, he is also the first player to obtain an elytra, the first player to create a level 10 settlement, and the first player to obtain 100K emeralds.

***

### **The First 1,000 Players**

On February 19, 2023, the server hit 1,000 total players marking a significant milestone less than two months after the public launch. Congratulations to MinerRaid999 for being the 1,000th player to join!

***

### **The Wilderness Expansion**

On June 14, 2023, the server was updated to support Minecraft [version 1.20](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Java_Edition_1.20). This new version included new terrain generation and loot which was made available to players by expanding the world border in all three Wilderness worlds. On July 17, after the new chunks were pre-generated for performance, the borders were expanded providing access to the new [Cherry Grove](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Cherry_Grove) biome.

***

### **The End Reset Event**

On July 22, 2023, the server re-opened End portals and provided players access to a brand new End world containing a new dragon egg and un-looted End cities during The End Reset Event. Prior to this event End portals were temporarily disabled, The End world was deleted, and a new End world was created and pre-generated for performance. During this event players raced to obtain the second dragon egg on the server.

The second dragon egg was obtained by okaybro with an assist from Madhin. The event was absolutely crazy: with non-stop player deaths and emotions running high, the server hit an all-time high of 42 concurrent players shortly after the event began. The server plans to host this event once per year, which means there will be one new dragon egg created on the server each year.

***

### **Verified By Mojang**

On September 7, 2023, Foundation Craft was verified by Mojang as compliant with the End User License Agreement (EULA) and Monetization Usage Guidelines (MUG) which allowed the server to be awarded the Builder's Benchmark Badge on the new Official Minecraft Server List.

***

### **New Server Spawn**

On September 23, 2023, the server started building a new spawn location at Settlement #26. The previous spawn location at Settlement #3 featured a massive obsidian fortress with a detailed interior, but many players expressed interest in a more bright, colorful, cheery spawn location featuring nature. After lots of feedback from players we finally had a vision for something better.

The new spawn locations features an obsidian spawn platform designed by vanquesh many years ago as well as homes, markets, gardens, a legislature building, and a courthouse all surrounded by a beautiful mountain range with snowy slopes and icy peaks.

***

### **Alpha Supporters Badge**

On November 24, 2023, Foundation Craft was awarded the Alpha Supporters Badge on the new Official Minecraft Server List and joined the Alpha Supporters group to help the team at GamerSafer continue to test and improve all of their related software projects.

***

### **The First 10,000 Players**

On October 2, 2023, the server hit 10,000 total players marking a significant milestone less than one year after the public launch. Congratulations to Prokay for being the 10,000th player to join the server!

***

### **Creating The Arena**

On February 22, 2024 the server announced a new world called [The Arena](/land-management/server-worlds) which allows players to engage in combat without losing their items or experience when they fight. Players can also challenge other players to a one-on-one duel in The Arena which other players on the server are able to spectate. Players can use the `/challenge` command to challenge other players to a duel. The duel will begin one minute after both players accept the terms. The winner of the duel will obtain the head of the player they kill, the cost of which is paid by the player that gets killed.

***

### First PvP Tournament

On July 14, 2024 the server hosted our first ever PvP Tournament in The Arena! Six of our best PvPers competed in the event: East, Wild, vsamuel, ePH, Fritos, and DeathTrap. Half of those players made it to the next round: Wild, vsamuel, and DeathTrap. Wild and DeathTrap faced off in the final round for a duel which lasted nearly 45 minutes. Congratulations to DeathTrap for winning the tournament! The prize for first place was revealed after the event to be the head of the server owner. This means that DeathTrap became the first player to obtain vanquesh's head.

***

### Master Of All Trades

On July 16, 2024 Lotus\_RT became the first player to obtain level 100 or above in all 10 skills! Congratulations to Lotus on this extremely difficult and impressive accomplishment. While leveling up his skills, Lotus provided feedback which the server used to further improve the skills system.

***

### The Wilderness Reset Event

On September 8, 2024 the server hosted our first-ever Wilderness Reset event! Prior to this event all three Wilderness worlds were deleted and re-generated on Minecraft version 1.21. At the start of this event players raced to find an End portal and kill the Ender dragon to obtain the new dragon egg. Congratulations to FritosAreBad for obtaining the third dragon egg on Foundation Craft!

***

### Bedrock Support Added

On August 3rd, 2025 the server added support for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition allowing players to join the server on all of the devices that support Bedrock Edition! We have been planning to do this for a long time, but this was prioritized to support our new friends from Black Lagoon, a really cool Minecraft community with lots of passionate players who are joining our community and staff team!

# Server Staff

The history of the Foundation Craft staff team

### **The Staff Team**

The Foundation Craft staff team is a group of players who volunteer their time to keep the server safe, fun, and fair for all players. Helpers are responsible for answering questions in chat, Mods are responsible for moderating server chat, and Admins are responsible for enforcing the server rules. Our custom plugin Foundation assists the staff team in these efforts, but some things must be handled manually, and that's where the Foundation Craft staff team comes in.

### **New Staff Ranks**

On August 16th, 2023, the server added three new staff ranks: Jr Mod, Sr Mod, and Sr Admin. These new ranks help delegate specific responsibilities to each staff member.

Jr Mods are responsible for reporting suspicious behavior, Sr Mods are responsible for mentoring other staff members, and Sr Admins are responsible for leading investigations and managing the staff team.

### **The Admin Team**

Joylessdave first joined on March 6th, 2023 and volunteers as a Sr Admin and Lead Security Consultant. # FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

### Is this a survival server?

Yes, Foundation Craft is a survival server. No players have access to the creative game mode. All items are obtained by players using vanilla Minecraft gameplay mechanics.

### **Is this a "lifesteal" server?**

No, Foundation Craft is not a "lifesteal" server because players cannot steal hearts from other players. However, players can earn extra hearts by leveling up their defense skill.

### Is this an "anarchy" server?

No, Foundation Craft is technically not an anarchy server because there are some rules which govern player behavior. That said, the server does accommodate most anarchy gameplay mechanics. There are no rules in The Wilderness, other than the [server rules](/server-rules) themselves, so players are allowed to steal, grief, and engage in combat in these worlds without fear of being banned.

### **What Minecraft versions does this server support?**

Foundation Craft is currently running on Minecraft version 1.21.8 but players can connect to the server using clients running many different versions including 1.18, 1.19. and all 1.20 versions.

### Do new players have to get started in The Wilderness?

No, new players can begin their journey in The Wilderness but they are not required to do so. If you don't want to explore The Wilderness, you can get started by [renting a home](/how-to-play/renting-real-estate) in The Frontier. Before you can do this you will need to earn some emeralds. Players can earn emeralds by [voting for the server](/vote-for-emeralds).

### Do I need emeralds to build a base?

No, players can build a base anywhere in The Wilderness and doing so does not cost any emeralds. That said, it is dangerous to build in The Wilderness as none of the land there is protected. Players also have the option of claiming safe and protected land in The Frontier, but that does cost emeralds.

### How do I set a home on this server?

You can save your location (aka set a home) on the server using the `/location save <name>` command and teleport back later using the `/location spawn <name>` command. This command is similar to the `/sethome` command on other servers.

### **Can I build farms in The Wilderness?**

Yes, players can build all kinds of farms in The Wilderness including crop farms and mob farms. Keep in mind that plots in The Wilderness cannot be claimed and are not protected by the server. As such, other players will be able to grief your farms in The Wilderness if they find them.

### **Can I build farms in The Frontier?**

Absolutely, yes! Players are encouraged to create settlements with homes and shops. Settlement owners can build farms in their homes which can then be sold or rented to other players for emeralds.

Building homes with farms and making them available for sale or rent can be very profitable. You can offer to pay for the first day of rent for new players who will quickly learn how profitable it is for them to farm and sell crops to villagers. You will earn passive income in rent and home taxes which are collected automatically by the server daily. As the settlement owner, if your residents fail to pay their taxes you can reclaim (aka take ownership of) the home after selling it and then re-sell or rent it to another player.

Players can build crop farms in The Frontier, but is is very hard to build mob farms in The Frontier because mobs [do not naturally spawn](/additional-features/non-vanilla-mechanics#gameplay-mechanic-changes) in claimed plots and players cannot build in unclaimed plots.

### Does it cost emeralds to create a home, shop, or market?

No, settlement owners can create [homes](/land-management/home-ownership#creating-homes), [shops](/land-management/shop-ownership#creating-shops), and [markets](/land-management/market-ownership#creating-markets) in their settlements for free, but it does cost emeralds to [spawn villagers in markets](/server-commands#pet-command) and it does cost emeralds to [create settlements](/land-management/creating-settlements).

### What is the difference between mobs, animals, and pets?

[Mobs](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Mob) are AI-driven game entities called animals which, when named, are called pets.

### What is the difference between plots and chunks?

Worlds on the server are divided into 16 by 16 block chunks of land called plots.

### **Why isn't my nether portal working?**

Nether portals in The Frontier can be linked to other locations in The Frontier such as settlements and homes, but do not teleport you to The Nether. To teleport to The Nether, you must use a Nether portal located in The Wilderness Overworld.

### **Can players reset or "reroll" villager trades?**

Villager trades will be randomly reset (aka rerolled) if the villager has not yet traded with any players. After that the trades are locked in and will not change, just like in vanilla Minecraft.

### **Can home owners sell a home while it is being rented?**

Home owners cannot sell a home if it is currently being rented by another player. If you own a home that is available for rent you can use the `/home stoprenting` command. If you want to sell the home instead, you can use the `/home sell` command to put the home up for sale.

### **Can beds be used to mine for netherite?**

Yes. Just like in vanilla Minecraft, clicking on a bed in The Nether will cause it to explode. As such, players can use beds to mine for ancient debris which can be smelted into netherite scraps.

### **What do I do when my anvil breaks in my rented home?**

If the anvil in your rented home breaks you can ask the home owner to place a new one for you.

### **Are players allowed to stream or voice chat?**

Players are allowed to stream and voice chat on our Discord server but do so at their own risk.

### What does PVP stand for?

"PVP" stands for "player-versus-player" and usually refers to combat between two or more players. Combat between players is allowed in The Wilderness and The Arena, but not allowed in The Frontier.

### What are timer hacks?

Timer hacks are detected when players appear to be moving in a way that violates the passage of time, allowing players to move faster than they would otherwise be able to. Players with a bad network connection to the server may inaccurately flag this detection.

### What are combat hacks?

Combat hacks are detected when players appear to be engaging in combat in a way that should not be possible when using the vanilla Minecraft client. Players will only flag this detection if they are using modded Minecraft clients which give them unfair competitive advantages.

### What are movement hacks?

Movement hacks are detected when players appear to be moving in a way that should not be possible when using the vanilla Minecraft client. Players with a bad network connection to the server may inaccurately flag this detection.

### What are ground spoof hacks?

Ground spoof hacks are detected when players appear to be standing on a different type of block than they actually are, allowing them to walk on air for example. Players who are jumping off of blocks that they are unable to place in The Frontier may flag this detection.

### **How do I become a Member?**

You can become a Member by purchasing a membership on our [Patreon page](https://www.patreon.com/FoundationCraft). Membership costs $10 and helps us pay for server advertising which increases the number of new players joining the server.

### **How can I join the staff team?**

Players can apply to join the server staff team using the contact form on our website. The staff team reads all applications submitted by players, but does not guarantee a response on all applications.

### **What are security consultants?**

Security consultants are players who have been recognized as having exemplary technical skills and knowledge which they use to help the server find and fix bugs and exploits. Security consultants have a rank on Discord but do not currently have any rank in-game.

Some features may not work as expected due to software bugs. Players can report software bugs on our Discord server or using the contact form on our website.
