# About Foundation Craft

[Foundation Craft](https://foundationcraft.com/) is an online game server for [Minecraft: Java Edition](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-edition) with a unique blend of survival, economy, and role-playing features including a skills system, dangerous uncharted worlds to explore, claimable land, a realistic real estate economy and an amazing community of players and staff!

Players can create settlements, homes, and shops in a safe and peaceful world called [The Frontier](https://about.foundationcraft.com/how-to-play/exploring-the-frontier), or collect resources while exploring the dangerous and uncharted worlds of [The Wilderness](https://about.foundationcraft.com/how-to-play/exploring-the-wilderness). Players can make friends, level up their skills, claim land, buy and rent [homes](https://about.foundationcraft.com/land-management/home-ownership) and [shops](https://about.foundationcraft.com/land-management/shop-ownership) with other players, build prosperous civilizations, and compete in a competitive server economy based on [emeralds](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Emerald).

The server is powered by a custom Java plugin, called Foundation, which provides an immersive [MMORPG](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massively_multiplayer_online_role-playing_game)-like experience with highly-integrated survival, economy, social, combat, role-playing and land management features. The plugin is built on top of [Minecraft](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us) and [PaperMC](https://papermc.io/) software and attempts to facilitate multiplayer gameplay in the most intuitive and enjoyable way possible.
